According to the latest Knight Frank Global Buyer Survey, 18 percent of global buyers said they were more inclined to purchase a ski home as a gathering place for friends and family (up from 11 percent in previous reports). Fresh air, views of nature, exercise, and time away from crowded cities continue to be strong drivers of demand.

It feels like always being on vacation and, according to research done for Coldwell Banker's Global Luxury Report 2022, waterfront real estate has a greater potential for appreciation.There is, after all, only so much land available near the water and the laws of economics dictate that when a resource is limited, it goes up in price.

Forget four-car garages, or on-property helicopter pads. The new must-have is a private marina. But this is no simple slip for a sloop; instead, it's a fully equipped berth for a superyacht that turns a waterfront home into a chance to take to the seas.
