The Palm Beaches, which span 2,300 square miles from Boca Raton to Jupiter, are considered southeast Florida’s ultra-high-end wellness mecca. And one of its hidden jewels is the Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa. Having recently underwent an extensive, multimillion-dollar reimagining of its social spaces, the resort now features a variety of new culinary outposts, a Riviera-inspired pool experience, an Instagram-worthy kids’ club, and an all-new Spa Terrace café.
Showcasing sunset views and waterfalls, Spa Terrace is an outdoor oasis of lush vegetation and ambient sounds that complements the whimsical playground of the 42,000-square-foot Eau Spa with its co-ed Self-Centered Garden featuring dipping pools, hanging chairs above a reflecting pond, cabanas, and a heated massage bench. In contrast to the decadent mini cupcakes offered in the spa’s relaxation lounge, the new spa cuisine menu offers health-conscious dishes that include locally sourced salads, wraps, and fresh-pressed juices.
But the real stress-free journey begins upon entering the spa’s reception area, where an Egyptian proverb engraved into the wall of a pond-size wishing well reads “For the benefit of the flowers, we water the thorns, too.” Guests are encouraged to light a floating candle and make a wish before heading over to the changing rooms or the Scrub and Polish Bar for custom-made cleansing ritual scrub kits to enjoy in the bath lounge’s steam room, sauna, cascading rain shower, and oversized Jacuzzi. The ingredients in the scrubs express the spa’s themes: Pause, lavender and mint to ease the mind and body; Play, citrus and eucalyptus to invigorate the muscles and spirit; Perfect, vanilla and ginger for a cleansing indulgence.
With 19 treatment rooms and private garden villas in which to enjoy a massage or facial, the menu of services is extensive. For those who spent too much time on the beach, the Eau So Cool facial ($365) is the perfect after-sun cooling and rejuvenating treatment for over-exposed skin. Using products from Swiss skincare brand Valmont, the regenerating serums eliminate redness and inflammation to leave skin fully hydrated. Afterward, staying indoors for a bit is just as much a haven for relaxation with the lounge’s Rubik’s Cubes and whimsical chandelier made of more than 300 vintage and contemporary glasses—a reminder that there’s still much fun to be had. eaupalmbeach.com
